The lodge PHOIBOS APOLLON works in Vienna. It is an all‑male lodge, though sisters are warmly welcome at any time.
The lighting of the lodge PHOIBOS APOLLON took place on 1 May 2010. On 23 June 2010, during the Summer St. John’s Festival, it was formally received as a member lodge of the Grand Orient of Austria.
PHOIBOS APOLLON works in the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.
The aim of the lodge Phoibos Apollon is to preserve the origins and traditions of Freemasonry and to act in the spirit of the Old and New Charges in order to contribute to the improvement of human society.
The seeking brethren of the Royal Art are to be given, with the help of gnostic hermeticism — through INITIATION INSTRUCTION* RITUAL* — the opportunity to penetrate into their innermost being, thereby fostering their own development in the spirit of ‘Know yourself, master yourself, ennoble yourself.’
A particular aim is the regular cultivation of the spiritual self, so that it may continue to grow and thereby become stronger. Through intensive work upon themselves, each member of this lodge is to consciously apply the alchemical maxim “Ars totum requirit hominem”.
